Are You Being Called By Webcollex, LLC?

Stop the
Harassment

You have legal rights. We can help.

While collection agencies support businesses by collecting unpaid debts. This is why their profession is legal and, some would say, necessary, but when they abuse consumers to collect that money, their conduct becomes illegal and puts them at risk of being shut down.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, or FDCPA, protects you when debt collectors make misleading, threatening, or harassing statements to deceive you into paying a debt. Below are some examples of actions that legally cross the line:

● Calling you before 8:00 a.m. and after 9:00 p.m.
● Discuss your financial situation with a third party
● Claiming that your property will be seized
● Using profane language
● Pretending to be members of law enforcement
● Saying that they will ruin your credit

Alleged Violations against Webcollex, LLC

According to PACER, in or around April 2015, Webcollex, LLC allegedly called an Arizona consumer to collect a debt. She complained that the call was made to her workplace, and that more followed even after she asked them to stop. One collector who identified herself as Wilhelmina allegedly threatened to garnish the consumer’s wages if she did not agree to make a payment in the amount of $250 per month.

Feeling harassed by Webcollex, LLC, the consumer got a free evaluation from a consumer lawyer and sued the agency for:

● Using false, deceptive, and misleading means to collect a debt
● Calling her at work after being told that she couldn’t talk to them there
● Threatening to garnish her wages and other actions that could not legally be taken

The matter was later resolved.
